Don’t Miss These July IT and Tech Conferences

Pavel Kaplunou , Marketing Communications

Ad hoc online webinars have been springing up like mushrooms after the rain. With most, if not all, offline events transitioning into online, there is hardly a chance to free up that summer events calendar. So by now, most of us have probably developed some form of webinar fatigue. Fret not, the key to managing your events schedule is by knowing which conferences and online events to commit you time.

After the success of our previous online events post, Smart IT has gathered a fresh line up of prolific online gatherings and meet-ups. Our goal is to highlight events that you may not have otherwise considered and give you a chance to reassess some of events you were planning to attend in favor of something more productive.

The July events list caters to a large enough audience—from associate to executive, from junior to senior experts. We have attempted to compile a healthy mix of industry-specific events and niche conferences for the keep software developers and business managers. Let’s see this month’s line-up!

RemoteCon by How to Web

Venue: All online
Date: Tues-Fri, June 30-July 3
Admission: Free to Attend

Brief: Okay, technically speaking, this one has already started (today), but since the majority of the conference days will take place in July, it falls under July events. RemoteCon is Europe’s first online conference dedicated to building remote organizations and teams. European business’s experience transitioning to a distributed work environment and going fully online can uncover new insights, not witnessed by the US. The online event is sponsored by big names in marketing, collaboration, and project management, such as Balsamiq, Miro, Hotjar, and Google Meet.

TechCrunch Early Stage SF 2020

Venue: Officially San Francisco, but fully virtual
Date: Tues-Wed, July 21-22

Brief: This San Francisco-based event will rally early stage startup founders from all across the globe under one virtual roof for a series of workshops on fundraising, law, recruitment, and growth. The event will be spearheaded by investors and professionals from the startup ecosystem. If you are in the market for new knowledge on nurturing your startup idea or reinforcing your existing startup venture, now is a good time to join the TechCrunch founder community.

SMB TechFest Studio

Venue: Wherever suits you
Date: Thursday, July 16
Admission: Free for IT professionals

Brief: Small-Medium Business TechFest Studio is the digital edition of the offline quarterly technology conference that brings together tech experts from the world of IT. ÜberConf Virtual

Date: Tue-Fri ,July 14-17, 2020
Admission: $1,375-$1,775 until July 4th (best bring a friend)

Brief: This Oracle-hosted event gets quite techy. Designed to be an educational platform for up-and-coming software engineers and architects, the virtual event will focus on everything from specific programming languages, frameworks and libraries such as Java, Kafka, Docker and Kotlin, to software architecture and leadership skills. Despite the steep attendance fee, visitors will be able to enjoy all the materials as downloadable resources and get a free ticket for next year’s event (hopefully offline).

Computer Based Medical Systems (CBMS)

Venue: Mayo Clinic, but, yes, online
Date: Tue-Thur, July 28-30
Admission: $60 for non-members

Brief: A bit more on the academic side, this international conference will be entirely dedicated to authors presenting academic papers on technologies such as computer-aided diagnosis, medical image analysis, and artificial intelligence in medicine. IEEE members will be able to join at a discounted price and enjoy the entire conference online. See the link for the full speaker list and program.
