Telemedicine Platform Development for MEDvidi

case
Description:

Smart IT is responsible for the entire development of MEDvidi, a fully functional telemedicine platform. At the moment, the platform integrates and combines all medical services provided by our Client's proprietary online and offline clinics. That creates a one stop point for management and operations of all Client's medical brands, such as EZCare clinic (www.ezcare.com), MDberry (www.mdberry.com), MMJDoctor (www. mmjdoctor.com), ESA Care (www.esacare.com) and more.

Client

MEDvidi was co-founded through a collaboration between Smart IT and once returning client turned partner — MDBerry. Alex Kulitski, Smart IT founder and CEO, currently acts as a fractional CTO for the project per the Executive-as-a-Service (EaaS) model.

Brief

MEDvidi was envisioned as a telehealth platform that would unite US patients, doctors, and medical clinics with on-demand healthcare services delivered over the internet. Its launch was fast tracked in view of the global health crisis of 2020 to provide medical services to those, who were impacted and could not do so under insurance claims. The scope of development included building a robust video and voice conferencing tool, custom CRM and EHR/EMR systems compliant with HIPPA requirements, as well as a number of third party integrations to facilitate payments, marketing, and communication.

Challenges and solutions

The MEDvidi software platform had to work as a hybrid between a customer relationship system and an electronic health record system.
  • Extensive business analysis
  • Use cases and workflows discovery for doctors and patients
  • Continual optimization
Furthermore, the software had to be designed from the ground up with specific safeguards and security standards for electronic protected health information per HIPPA Security Rules, along with the use of AI technologies.
  • AI-powered diagnosis
  • AI health assistant for patients and doctors
  • Fully HIPPA compliant EHR system
The doctor and patient entities would require the creation of distinct dashboards splitting the following feature sets:
  • Calendar integration
  • Health record management
  • Patient monitoring
  • Automated scheduling
  • Automated return visits
  • Electronic prescribing
Smart IT would have to both figure out and implement all account management related features for the new CRM:
  • Scheduled tasks and activities
  • Appointment confirmation
  • Automatic routing of incoming appointments
  • Shift-based task distribution
Last but not least the entire healthcare platform would be made available as a mobile application.
  • Further business analysis
  • Mobile application development
  • Mobile UI/UX development
