Client

Our Client was a software as a service (SaaS) company offering individual and corporate wellbeing monitoring solutions. The company’s software platform tracks data from smart devices like mobile phones, sensors, and wearables in order to customize fitness goals and encourage users to lead healthier lives. Using a simple metric based on points, the mobile app shows the intensity of a user’s daily activity calculates the level of fitness.

The company also partners with insurance operators, who can use the collected data to develop dynamic pricing models and automated underwriting, creating a more personal customer experience. The Client is a trusted partner of some of the leading insurers in the Nordics and Germany.

Brief

With the exponential growth of their mobile application’s popularity and the increase in user base, our client decided to further enhance their proprietary software. They wanted to create a comprehensive system that would analyze synchronized application and device data in order to craft targeted marketing campaigns and promotions. Smart IT’s development background in IoT and Big Data analytics convinced the client to move forward with our software development company.

While the client was able to capture large volumes of data, the company did not have a technology stack for Big Data processing and analysis. Smart IT offered to:
  • Develop the system back-end from scratch using Node.js and MongoDB
