Web and Mobile Application Development for AfrikaLoan

AfrikaLoan is a personal finance and crediting services company working out of Nairobi, Kenya. The company issues personal loans to individuals and entrepreneurs over its mobile application with funds delivered directly to mobile money accounts popular in Africa.

Brief

Due to delays and overall poor quality of work with another vendor, Smart IT stepped in to take over development and ensure the speedy launch of the software and new services. Our team of developers joined the Client’s in-house team remotely to build the backend architecture and performed the required application integrations to allow the company’s CRM to work together with their main website and mobile application.

Challenges and solutions

The company planned to roll out a mobile application to drive more contacts and conversions to its microfinance business. It therefore needed the backend solution to:

• Integrate with Bitrix24 CRM
• Integrate with the new mobile application
• Communicate with websites websites with different TLDs

To address these requirements and increase system capacity to support the new slew of features Smart IT engineers worked on:

• Refactoring existing architecture
• Developing the new mobile API
• Enabling communication of CRM with all system components
